It must be Summer...tropical-themed interior accessories have been filling the shops in recent weeks...but it's all a little bit 'colour-overload' for me..!
How about something more subdued with just a hint of vintage Hollywood style...

Kid's room bedside tables.
A simple storage unit next to the bed for treasured possessions, favourite books and a comforting nightlight...what's not to love!

An industrial-style kid's room using 'Feathers'.
When I first saw this 'Feathers' wallpaper from Mini Moderns it was a struggle not to think of a 'cowboys and indians' themed kid's room.
However, I've resisted the obvious and come up with this...
1. 'Feathers' wallpaper in Lido, Mini Moderns
2. Image found at DesignSponge
3. Vintage metal locker, Pamono
4. Storage baskets, Ferm Living
5. Striped rug, Maine Cottage
6. Illustration, find similar at Etsy

So its a woodland theme for royal baby Charlotte...
Or so I've heard...through various media channels...Princess Charlotte's nursery is based on a woodland theme. That's as much as I know though so I've come up with my take on it...
1... I'd start with this birch tree wallpaper (find similar at Cole and Son). It looks hand-drawn, just like an illustration from a child's story book...or, if I could find the time, patience or a professional mural artist, I'd create my own design...like this...

2... And what about a little den for Prince George to play in while he's waiting for his little sister to grow up a bit...try Cox and Cox.
3... I found the wooden fox baby rattles on Etsy...oh, how I love etsy...and would probably scatter a few Donna Wilson woodland animal toys too...
4... I'd choose a simply-styled cot from Oeuf...this one's called 'Sparrow'...how apt for a woodland theme!
5... And I can just imaging a small table surrounded by these delightful little bambi chairs...
6... Finally...I'd add soft furnishings and bedding in a complimentary design...try Fine Little Day.
Yep!...that's how I'd do it...what about you?

Random baby nurseries...
Don't go looking for a theme running through these cute nurseries...there isn't one!
Apart from the fact they caught my eye in some random, appealing way...so please, enjoy...

Three easy ways to add dots and spots to a kid's room.
Whenever I see dotty decorations in a kid's room it makes me think of confetti at a summer wedding; brightly coloured discs of celebration swirling around the happy couple...putting everyone in a good mood...so what better way to cheer up a kid's room.
If you're competent at hanging wallpaper, or know someone who is, create a spotty wall behind the bed or in an alcove. Try Harlequin's neutral design for a casual finish in a nursery or go bold with gold glitter-effect spots from Spoonflower...my favourite!
Or try a more 'random' finish using a stencil...the Stencil Library has loads of dotty designs...but you could always make your own...
And finally...wall stickers!
Probably the easiest option of them all...and the least messy!!!
Again, you can either buy them ready to stick to the wall...or try making them yourself...

Colouring in is cool for kids...and grown-ups apparently!
Well according to the news reports this week it is...
All us stressed-out adults could benefit from a bit of 'me-time' accompanied by a colouring book and some crayons to ease our frazzled minds...
And, as sales of the adult colouring book, The Secret Garden, hit over a million sales this week who am I to disagree...!
Some of the covers alone are a work of art...
Pop along to Amazon to accommodate a huge range of coloring styles...I'm loving this 'Adorable Animals' book...and am thinking I could adapt some of the illustrations to make interior accessories when I've finished colouring them in...!
That's entertainment with the kids sorted for the Easter weekend then...
