Indoor play spaces for the Summer holidays.

After two days of showers, my neighbour's kids are already going stir-crazy being kept in with '...nothing to do.'
Take inspiration from these kid's playrooms and create a little corner of the house for wet weather moments...

I've done the obligatory 'school holiday' trip...

I don't have kids myself so could've avoided it altogether but my dad wanted to visit the Science Museum in London for his 80th birthday...and it's every kid's job, once they get to a certain age, to oblige parents with their birthday wish...isn't it?

So the two biggest kids of the day toured the building....
Best bits for me?...the climate change Earth globe....and the Apollo 10 space module...the actual one that went to space in preparation for the moon landing...Incredible...the underside was almost as burnt as my saucepans at home!

We were showing our age by the time we got to the third floor...computer interaction was becoming essential....and proved too much....we were off to the restaurant for fish-finger sandwiches...!
I told you...biggest kids in the building!

Back out for more and the 'Who am I?' wall....any movement was matched by hundreds of light discs in pinky colours....what a great idea for a kid's room....one day maybe...

And then to the Museum shop...and a veritable treasure-trove of interactive science toys and experiments for kids of all ages...I could feel 'pester-power' coming on in bucket-loads...we had to go!

We had a ball! Happy birthday Dad...

Just a few Royal baby room ideas...

It was lovely to see the safe arrival of Prince George this week...mind you, with the list of eminent professionals involved in his birth, there was little chance of anything going wrong...let's face it!
And I'm not one for nosing in on other people's lives but I couldn't help getting excited as little George made his first appearance....

As an interior designer, I'd love a peek into the Royal nursery...but let's face it, it aint ever gonna happen!
So I'll be content just wondering...and coming up with my own ideas...

I'm imagining a soft neutral colour scheme and classic furniture...

And what about a beautiful crib like this....No, I don't think it's too girly...do you? And Kate made vintage lace popular all over again...didn't she.

Maybe just a little bit of a vintage feel...and I realise that baby George is unlikely to be sleeping in the attic...!

Oh! I'm speechless...never mind for a baby's room...this is mine..!!

 Or this...I promise...it's a cot!

Grey is all the rage for interiors at the mo...I wonder if the new parents have gone for this trend..?

Bitten by the Pinterest bug....!

I tried so hard not to succumb....but it was to no avail....too many beautiful images of absolutely everything!
You name it and I'll bet you'll find it...on this 'oh so adictive' site..!!
So whilst some would say my days have been wasted on this delightful pastime...some would see it as 'research' for interior ideas....what would you say?....

Find my boards here......And just a taster below....

So now you know where I might be if the Blogger posts go quiet for a while...!
