Wall decoration from Dreams and Wishes.

With paint brush in hand I've been busy over the last week or so, creating these murals....

Firstly, a few simple stars were added to an inky background for a celestial nursery...and I love it so much I'm going to do similar in my own bedroom!

And then I went to town in a young boy's room...who loves racing cars..!

 The race car was based on a cartoon image found on the internet...

I'm not a great fan of excessive, detailed murals that overpower a room...but these examples prove simple designs can be just as effective....

One box, one wall, instant storage...!

Let's face it...any inch of space in a kid's room is prime for storage of some sort...and these box shelves are ideal for any size or shape of wall you may have...and you can get them made to suit your own needs at a very reasonable price...perfect!

Kid's extendable beds...so cute!

Looking around on parenting sites, there seems to be mixed feelings on extendable beds for kids...mainly the availability and choice of good bed linen...and what do you do for a mattress if you're at the 'inbetween' stage...?

Luxury bathrooms...a mother's dream!

I don't know many Mums who wouldn't love the chance to spend unrestricted time lazing in a hot bath-tub without the kids interruptions...here's hoping that during this weekend especially, some of you get the chance.

All is not lost if your humble family bathroom doesn't match up to these beauties though...
Start by clearing out all the kid's toys, toiletries and other paraphernalia and replace it with those new, fluffy towels you've kept hidden, some scented candles...(turn off the lights)...sneak in some posh bubble bath...and lie back and relax....aaaahhhh!

Paper pompoms in kid's rooms.

I'm a real fan of these blousy paper pompoms...they remind me of big chrysanthemum blooms!
On a practical level, I wonder how easy they would be to dust regularly as a permanent fixture but for a kid's party or a Christening celebration they'd be fantastic....

Mind you...! a few more examples like these and I could be persuaded to add them to my home.

I'm going to give it a go making  some of these...just to say I can...and here's how...

But if it all gets a bit complicated...there's always the ready-made ones...

My first I.T. moodboard...!

Well, not really...I've created plenty using good ole' fashioned paper and glue...but this is the first using I.T. techniques....and I've been sat at my laptop for so long my nether regions have gone numb!

I know it's not up to the excellent standards you'll see on the likes of Decor8 or Design Sponge...but look out Blogger-world here I come....!

They say taking on a challenge keeps your mind and body fresh, and how true they are...just like a baby taking her first stumbling steps across the nursery, I feel I've achieved great things tonight.

And here it is....Ta Da!

See...! It doesn't hurt to try something new...or different...or perceptively difficult...

I'm still here...and it doesn't appear that the sky has fallen in during the hours it's taken me to get this far....!

In six months time I'll compare this effort with the masterpieces I will be creating and we'll all have a giggle at my expense....
