Woodpile wallpaper...a kid's room idea.

On my 'must-see' list for Top Drawer last week was the Roddy and Ginger stand...I wanted to see, first hand, their woodpile wallpaper....

I've been reading rave reviews about this design...and keep spotting it in interior magazines....

Here's how Dreams and Wishes would use it to create a modern, rustic kid's room.

Reclaimed, unfinished floorboards...

...warmed with a bright rug...keep an eye out for patterns reminiscent of a Native American style.

If the budget allows, invest in furniture and fittings with a rustic feel...
This bunk-bed set has a 'fairytale' feel about it that I can't resist!

And what about creating a feature with shelving in keeping with the 'modern rustic' feel...?

Donna Wilson's soft furnishings work well with any theme and especially in a kid's room....

Keep an eye out on crafting websites and in fabric shops for unusual fabrics to make bespoke soft-furnishings...

...bed-linens, curtains and blinds...

Decorating a kid's room should be a fun activity...so work a little humour into the scheme with accessories....like these twig wall hooks...

Thoughtful artwork...like this vintage kid's illustration....by Russian artist Charushin.

This Anne-Claire Petit moose head is a cute alternative to the currently popular 'grown-up' versions...

In keeping with the Native American theme filtering through spring/summer trends...we'd add these dream-catchers for a final flourish...
